The devils were given 100-150 years of extra unusual power to destroy the Catholic Church. As the prophecies make clear, to do so is to attack the old Latin Mass and race most associated with the old Latin mass which is the race native to Europe. I think the Pope made a right but still wrong decision on contraception. This Pope is also the one who ended the old Latin Mass. Would a Pope try to destroy the church? It is possible. I believe the position should be all kinds of contraception will forever be sins but- if- all alternative paths cause sin then someone cannot go to hell. A small number of Christians allow non-abortifacient contraception but before 1925 non-abortifacient contraception was opposed by all Christian churches. Here is why I believe all paths can be sinful. Abortifacient contraception kills. The non-abortifacient contraception prevents life. Natural family planning (what the Pope approved) was opposed by previous Popes because it is often not open to life. To abstain from sex inside marriage is not open to life. The extreme- to avoid being married at all- is not open to life. Further, in history there have been famines and wars. What if someone believes having a child will cause them? The church can never change teachings but if all paths cause sin which seems possible it would negate the ability to go to hell? Can this be applied more broadly? If a woman can no longer have children in physical safe manner does it count as murder to make her bear more children? Mercy and desire and sex being a biblical requirement in marriage is not enough in Catholic logical process. Sex is a biblical requirement in marriage but it must done morally. So these arguments cited by Orthodox churches are not enough in Catholic logic. If every path causes sin, it is enough? Next, this should allow a broader understanding of annulment that always allow remarriage without changing teachings. The early church was divided. Most early church fathers held the Catholic position that a marriage if valid can never be dissolved. There was a minority opinion based on a bible verse that Protestants and Orthodox cite. The church must always help couples fight for their marriage. I believe Heaven is allowing mercy and taking into account people living longer by putting this logic in my mind. Mercy and people living longer is not enough in Catholic logic. For a marriage to be valid, it must always be open to life and believed by both spouses at the instant of being married by a priest. If all paths can cause sin is embraced, it messes with this. It will never be possible on this side of eternal life to know if a marriage is valid if one or both spouses believes in the moment a priest marries them that all paths can cause sin on contraception. The best the church can do is hope it is valid. Upon annulment, the church can cite this. Some Christians allow non-abortifacient contraception. Before 1925, all kinds were opposed by all denominations. I believe that abortifacient contraception is best because it allows thousands of souls to be created per sexual act instead of probably none. Lastly, in terms of what can be legal there seem to be two schools of thought. Contrary to Republican party politics, popes and saints and councils taught for 1500 years most sins should be legal so people can choose. On the flip side, Republican party politics and conservative religious thought today (Muslim, Catholic, Protestant) seem to argue most sins should be illegal. I have many unanswered questions.
